Should I stream Hatchet 3 (2013)? (by Decker Shado)

"Hatchet III" (2013 horror film) continues the story of Victor Crowley the vengeful ghost. BJ MacDonnell directs the film. It is the final installment of the Hatchet Film Series. Kane Hodder stars alongside Zach Galligan in the film.

The plot of the film is the search for survivors from earlier films made by Crowley and other local hunters. Crowley's history and the way the ghost became vengeful is also covered.

Cast and crew did a great job in bringing the characters alive. Kane Hodder, who played Crowley, brought an intense performance to the role. The practical special effects used to bring the vengeful ghost to life were impressive and added to the horror element of the film.

Practical special effects are a strong point of the movie. They add horror elements to the film. (blog post) The pace of the film made the audience stay on the edge of their seats, too.

Unfortunately, the movie follows the same formula as previous films in series. It feels like a rerun of the same plot. The plot was also somewhat confusing and difficult to follow at times.

Overall, I enjoyed "Hatchet III", even though it was very similar to other films in the Hatchet film series. While the film had strong special effects and pacing however, it wasn't quite as engaging as the plot or familiarity of the plot. If you are a fan of the show and love slasher movies, this movie is worth watching.
